It is with a heavy heart that we have decided that we have no alternative but to cancel the End of Season Bonfire & Fireworks Event which was to be held on Saturday 24th October 2020. This is not a decision we have taken lightly, but feel in the current climate, it is the right decision.
The safety of our residents, visitors, entertainers and volunteers is of paramount importance. As many will be aware the committee start planning for these events at least 12 months in advance. As there is no guarantee that the restriction regarding the gathering of large crowds will be lifted by October, we need to minimise any losses, and so by taking the decision at this stage we will have achieved this. We hope to be able to resurrect this event in 2021.
We know that this decision will come as a disappointment to many, however, we hope that you understand why we have come to this decision.

It is with great sadness that Blakeney Parish Council has learned of the death of His Royal Highness the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The Parish Council, on behalf of its residents, offers its deepest sympathy to Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family. We join the rest of the nation in mourning as we remember his remarkable life and the contribution he made with respect, admiration and affection.
Over the next 8 days, Blakeney Parish Council will observe a period of mourning and will be paying respect to His Royal Highness.
To avoid unnecessary social contact, books of condolence will not be available, but please email your condolences to clerk@blakeneyparishcouncil.org.uk or to condolence@north-norfolk.gov.uk (We understand that there will be a link for the book of condolences available at www.royal.uk from 10th April.)
In view of current circumstances, floral tributes will be discouraged at this time, but consideration could be made towards the monarchs nominated charities.
