Platinum Jubilee Events: Blakeney 2nd-5th June

Thursday 2nd June

2pm – 3.30pm – Lantern making workshop at the Methodist Chapel – FREE to attend, materials provided.

9pm – Lantern procession leaves St. Nicholas Church and heads down to Quay, with singing and vintage cars.

9.45pm – Beacon Lighting on Mariners Hill and 70 rings of the church bell; view from The Quay, or if Mariners Hill, be sure to take a torch and use the steps!

Friday 3rd June

10am – 12noon – Jubilee Coffee Morning – Friends of St. Nicholas, at St. Aidans, Back Lane, NR25 7NP.

Harbour Room, Royal British Legion: All day – start of the Beer Festival.

2pm – 4pm – Children’s Entertainer ‘Moore Madness!’ on the lawns at the RBL for children of all ages. Inside in event of bad weather.

9pm – The ever popular ‘Satellites of Soul’ are playing in The Harbour Room – tickets £10.

Saturday 4th June

10am – 4pm – Open Garden at The Old Merchants House, High Street, courtesy of Clare and David Marris.

9pm – The Harbour Room – ‘Hottrax Disco’ playing all our favourite sounds from the 60’s right up to the 2000’s.

Sunday 5th June

9am – High Street will be closed except for access to The Harbour Room and the White Horse car parks.

9.30am – Church Service in St Nicholas Church, all faiths welcome.

11am – 2.30pm – Drop in event – Childrens’ Crown Making Sessions in the garden at no. 28 Langham Road – FREE to attend, materials provided.

3pm – 6pm – THE BIG JUBILEE AFTERNOON TEA in the High Street – All welcome! Please download, complete and return the afternoon tea form by clicking here.

Fancy Dress would be fun! Thrilling Stilt Walkers, Magician full of surprises, Live Music, Jubilee Quiz sheets on the table for Adults & Children and presentation of Jubilee Memorabilia mugs for local ticket-holding children.

PLEASE BRING: Yourselves, friends and family, a picnic for your group, a flask of hot drink (or whatever you fancy) plus a cake to share or enjoy yourself and a chair if possible!  If you can take your rubbish home that would be great! If you have any food allergies, we would ask that you kindly cater for yourself.

PROVIDED: As many tables and chairs as we can muster, but see above, extra plates of sandwiches and cakes, squash, paper plates, cups, table decorations and general entertainment!

6pm – 6.30pm – Glaven sings Gospel on the Quay to finish the day off nicely, sing your hearts out
